Each and every year, September 15th is an International Lymphoma Awareness Day. This is a special day, recognized in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and other countries. The Society of Patients with Lymphoma was established in Europe in September 2003. In 2016 the Society included more than 7 thousand patients from different continents all over the world.
The main goals of the program are to raise public awareness of lymphoma, the disease manifestations and increase early diagnosis of this disease. Therefore, doctors consider the patients education to provide information on the latest drugs to combat lymphomas as the most important task of the state and socially responsible organizations.
Lymphoma is a malignant tumor of the immune system cells affecting the lymphatic system consisted of bone marrow, thymus, spleen and lymph nodes.
The first symptoms of lymphoma are an increase in the size of different type lymph nodes (cervical, axillary or inguinal). Lymphoma is represented by a group of more than 30 diseases that can affect the person at any age period: from early childhood to elderly. The incidence of this disease in Europe is 15 cases per 100 thousand people per year. In Russia over 10 thousand new cases of lymphoma are detected every year. This is 4% of all cancer pathologies.
Patient chances to recover depend completely on accurate and timely diagnosis of the disease. In case of fast detection and proper therapy lymphoma is curable in 80% of cases; modern technologies are able to completely cure or significantly improve the quality of life in patients suffering from lymphoma.
Каждый год 15 сентября проводится Международный день борьбы с лимфомами. Празднуется в России, Беларуси, Украине и других странах. Общество больных лимфомами создано в сентябре 2003 года в Европе. В 2016 году насчитывается более 7 тысяч членов, проживающих на разных континентах нашей планеты.
Основными целями программы является увеличение осведомленности общественности о лимфоме, о проявлениях болезни, увеличение ранней выявляемости заболевания. Поэтому важнейшей задачей государства и социально ответственных организаций врачи считают необходимость просвещения населения в связи с появлением новейших средств борьбы с лимфомами.
Лимфома — злокачественная опухоль из клеток иммунной системы, которая поражает лимфатическую систему, состоящую из костного мозга, вилочковой железы, селезёнки и лимфатических узлов
Первые симптомы лимфом — увеличение размеров лимфатических узлов разных групп (шейных, подмышечных или паховых). Лимфомы представляют собой группу более чем из 30 заболеваний, которыми может заболеть человек любого возраста: от раннего детства до глубокой старости. Заболеваемость в Европе составляет 15 случаев на 100 тыс. населения в год. В России каждый год выявляется свыше 10тыс. новых случаев заболеваемости лимфомой. Это 4% от всех раковых патологий.
Шансы больных на выздоровление полностью зависят от точной и своевременной диагностики заболевания. При своевременном выявлении и качественной терапии, лимфома излечима в 80% случаев, а нынешние технологии позволяют полностью излечивать или существенно улучшать качество жизни больных лимфомой.
