      • Snoring
      12 September 2016 11:00

Snoring occurs when the inhaled air flow provokes vibration of soft tissues from the upper respiratory tract. When we slip, the palate muscles are relaxed and when the air passes through them, they start to vibrate with the sounds familiar to us. Most people snore while they are asleep and precisely on inhalation.

Snoring can initiate the respiratory arrest, following significant deterioration in vital organs and systems of organs functioning. Often people who snore suffer from reduced working capacity and an increased fatigue.

      Reasons:

According to statistics, about 40% of men and 24% of women suffer from snoring. In children it ranges from 10 to 12%. Snoring in children can be especially dangerous because the reasons behind that may aggravate as the child grows up.

Doctors highlight the main reasons of snoring:

      • Nose disease
      • Tongue enlargement
      • Laryngopathy
      • Staphyloptosis
      • Soft palate falling and enlargement
      • Reduced muscle tone
      • Alcohol and drug addiction
      • Smoking

Snoring is characterized by difficulty in nasal breathing due to narrowness in nasal passages, as a result of deflected nose septum and nasal polyps. As well as the result of obstruction in the pharynx with the most serious conditions: enlarged tonsils, falling palatine velum and a massive tongue base.

Snoring in a child can often indicate the progression of nasopharyngeal tonsil proliferation. Adenoids, as one of the most common cause of snoring, are often found in children. Usually they grow after an infection attack.

      Anti-snoring therapy

For adults a common and useful recommendation is to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Fight with overweight, try not to overeat at night, do not abuse alcohol and give up smoking. These simple tips for most people will be enough to significantly reduce snoring intensity.

The recipe for snoring treatment at home: take a couple of cabbage leaves and chop finely or pass through a grinder. Then mix with a tablespoon of honey. Use before bedtime. As an alternative, you can prepare juice from cabbage, mix it with honey and drink in before bedtime. The course of treatment takes one month.
