Questions and answers
What is a painful muscle spasm?
Painful muscle spasm - the tonic muscle tension that occurs in response to pain irritation is characterized by an increase in muscle tone with prolonged involuntary contractions of the skeletal muscles that cause pain.
What conditions are accompanied by painful muscle spasm (BMS)?
-lumbago-classic example of BMS;
-lumbalgia, lumbar ischialgia;
cervicalgia, cervicobrachialgia;
-radiculopathies;
myofascial pain;
back pain in oncology;
diseases of the internal organs.
Key recommendations for relieving painful muscle spasm?
-medical therapy;
-observance of motor regime;
-mode of work and rest;
FTL, massage;
-reflexotherapy;
local injection therapy;
-Topic NSAIDs and muscle relaxants (ointments).
What groups of drugs are used to treat painful muscle spasm?
steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
muscle relaxants;
antidepressants.
Why muscle relaxants should be used in the treatment of painful muscle spasm?
- inhibit spinal reflexes;
-reduce reflex muscular tension;
-reduce pain;
-improve motor functions;
-increase the effectiveness of manual and drug therapy, exercise therapy and massage, enhance the effect of novocaine blockade and physiotherapeutic treatment.
Adding muscle relaxants to NSAIDs and physiotherapy helps to reduce treatment time due to faster regression of pain, muscle tension, improved spinal mobility and reduces the risk of side effects of NSAIDs by reducing the dosage of the latter during combination therapy.
To which group do the Reblax drug belong?
Reblax-semisynthetic muscle relaxant of central action without a sedative effect, is used as part of the complex treatment of painful muscle spasms accompanying acute spinal pathology in adults and adolescents over 16 years old.
What is the active ingredient in Reblax?
The drug Reblax as an active substance contains a thiocolchicoside, a semisynthetic muscle relaxant derived from natural colchicoside glycoside.
Thiocolchicoside has been used in world clinical practice for over 40 years as a muscle relaxant with anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
In what dosages and dosage forms is Reblax used?
The drug Reblax is available in the form of a solution for injection in ampoules of 4 mg-2 ml No. 6, as well as in the form of capsules 4 mg and 8 mg No. 10.
Dosage and administration of Reblax?
1) Solution for injection (ampoules 4 mg / 2 ml No. 6): used intramuscularly.
The recommended and maximum dose is 4 mg every 12 hours (8 mg per day) for 5 days.
In preparation for physiotherapeutic procedures, the period of muscle relaxation is 30-40 minutes after i / m injection.
2) Capsules (4 mg and 8 mg No. 10).
The recommended and maximum daily dose is 8 mg every 12 hours (16 mg per day) for 7 days.
What are the benefits of Reblax compared to other central muscle relaxants?
-Analogue of an alkaloid of natural origin;
-Does not have a sedative effect;
-Reduces muscle tone while maintaining muscle strength;
-It has three-in-one effectiveness: muscle relaxation with analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects;
-Quickly causes muscle relaxation (30-40 minutes after i / m injection);
-Does not have curariform action;
-Does not cause paralysis and does not depress breathing;
- Does not affect the cardiovascular system (can be used in patients with concomitant cardiovascular diseases).
